For over 60 years, Washington County Hospital has provided healthcare services for the residents of this county and the surrounding areas. Our staff is committed to excellence in service and work every day to improve the health of our patients and community. Our commitment involves investing in employees, technology and equipment, improving the facility, and in developing new programs designed to meet the changing needs of our community. Our hospital is a critical part of the infrastructure and economic well-being of our county.

For the past 20 years the hospital has been operating as a Critical Access Hospital (CAH). We are available 24/7 to provide critical access to healthcare for our community. We are a designated Stroke-Ready Facility. We have in-house emergency providers and nurses that are available 24 hours a day to provide care for your emergency needs.

We are currently renovating all of the West Wing patient rooms to create private rooms to increase space and privacy for patients. Washington County Hospital staff offer numerous educational opportunities for members of the community to promote health and wellness and to increase patients understanding of their medical conditions.

The hospital partners with SSM Health in St. Louis and Mt. Vernon to provide specialists that come to our local community hospital for easy access for patients. Instead of driving to St. Louis or Mt. Vernon patients can see their cardiologist, orthopedist, gynecologist, podiatrist or neurologist right here in town.

Washington County Hospital is currently licensed for 25 beds; 10 acute care beds and 15 supportive care beds. We employ over 150 highly qualified staff that provides patients a caring environment with high tech equipment, delivered with a personal touch.
